Search
Atollic TrueSTUDIO® provides the search and replace capabilities expected by a modern IDE, including support for regular expressions. But the product goes well beyond that, and includes powerful File Search and C/C++ Search facilities as well.
File search
The File Search can search for the occurrences of a search string in a large number of files at the same time. Regular expressions are allowed both in the search string and in the filename filter string.
All occurences in all files, that match the search string or the optional regular expressions, are listed in the Search view. A double click on any of the search result lines automatically opens the corresponing file at the right location.
C/C++ search
The C/C++ Search does not work using simple text searching, but rather it uses the C/C++ indexing database to make a very sharply defined and stringent search using C/C++ specific search constraints. It is for example possible to limit the search to certain language types, such as only a variables or structure fields that match a certain name or regular expression.
All occurences of the constrained C/C++ language types, that match the search string or the optional regular expressions, are listed in the Search view. A double click on any of the search result lines automatically opens the corresponing file at the right location.
Task search
Users of the task management system can search for tasks (such as a bug, feature request etc) on the bug database server (such as Trac, Bugzilla or JIRA) from within Atollic TrueSTUDIO®. It is also possible to define and save queries with user defined attribute filters. Each query provides a list of tasks that match the filter criteria.
The task search and task query filter dialog is adapted to the fields that are available in the bug database server being used.
